Legacy pricing policy

Last updated: 17 April 2026

What this is

When we updated our pricing in April 2026 (Landlord tier rose from £6.99 to £9/mo, Portfolio from £14.99 to £19/mo), we made a commitment to everyone already paying: your legacy price is locked in for 12 months. This page explains how that works.

Who is grandfathered

  • Any Landlord subscriber paying £6.99/mo before the pricing update — stays at £6.99 for 12 months
  • Any Portfolio subscriber paying £14.99/mo before the pricing update — stays at £14.99 for 12 months
  • Annual subscribers keep their annual rate until it renews, then move onto the equivalent new annual pricing (with the usual 60 days’ notice)

The Agency tier was £99/mo before and after, so no grandfather applies. Free-tier users are unaffected.

How long the lock lasts

12 months, measured from the day your workspace was grandfathered (the day we applied the pricing update for existing customers). After that, we will move you onto the current public pricing with a minimum of 60 days’ written notice by email, plus an in-app banner during the notice period. You can cancel any time before the migration with no exit fees.

In the Tendmere app you’ll see a banner on your dashboard confirming your legacy price and the exact date the lock expires.

What could cause you to lose the legacy price early

  • Voluntary upgrade — if you switch tiers (e.g. Landlord → Portfolio) you move onto the current public price for the new tier
  • Lapsed payment — if your subscription is cancelled and re-started more than 30 days later, you come back in at the current public price
  • Account deletion — grandfather is workspace-scoped, so deleting and creating a new account forfeits the lock

Why we changed prices

This archived notice described the product direction at the time. Open Banking and provider-backed receipt extraction did not become universal live entitlements; current availability is governed by the capability and controlled-beta status pages. Keeping the Landlord tier at £6.99 would have meant cutting features or the quality bar elsewhere — the new £9 / £19 / £99 tiers reflect the full product.

We gave you a 12-month lock and a further 60 days’ notice because it’s the right thing to do, not because we’re required to. We expect the vast majority of grandfathered customers to have upgraded or renewed voluntarily by the time the lock expires.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or if you believe your workspace should be grandfathered and the banner isn’t showing, email support@tendmere.com and we’ll look into it.
