How we earn trust

Useful guidance should show its working.

Tendmere publishes practical landlord operating guides to help people organise evidence, dates and decisions. This policy explains what we check, what we do not claim and how to flag a correction.

Primary sources first

For law, tax and government processes, we prefer current GOV.UK, HMRC, legislation and regulator material. Commercial commentary can add context, but it does not replace the authoritative source.

Applicability stays explicit

Rules vary by nation, council, property, occupation and tenancy. We avoid presenting a general guide as a property-specific legal conclusion and link readers to the source they should verify.

Product claims match production

We distinguish working features from provider-gated, controlled-beta or planned capabilities. Tendmere organises records and recommendations; it does not certify compliance or make consequential decisions for a landlord.

Material changes are reviewed

Source-backed guides show a visible review date. When legislation, HMRC guidance or Tendmere capabilities materially change, we update the article and its structured date rather than disguising an old page as new.

Review and correction process

  1. Research

The editorial team identifies the question, jurisdiction and relevant primary material before drafting.

  2. Boundary check

Legal, financial, tax and product claims are checked for scope, source support and honest availability wording.

  3. Publication

Source-backed guides display the material sources checked and the date of the latest substantive review.

  4. Correction

A credible correction is checked against the authoritative source, amended promptly and given a new review date when the meaning changes.

Found something that needs correcting?

Send the page URL, the statement in question and a primary source where possible. We review product-capability corrections as seriously as legal or tax ones.
